Thoughtful Day!!!

I am overjoyed to finally announce my new wedding invitation business, Thoughtful Day! As many of you know, I have been working on this for many months now and am so happy and excited to finally share it with all of you! Since last summer I have been designing the website, Melodie Collection and doing some custom work. The design and function of the website took quite a bit of time, especially with the Melodie Collection; trying to make the shopping experience as user friendly as possible! And I hope you agree!

The Melodie Collection is a set of four themed wedding collections that allow you to mix or match your wedding invitations. The option is completely up to you and allows you to come up with a unique and custom collection as well as pricing that fits within your budget! In addition to the three colorways, custom colors are available too.

SO many people were of huge help to me in this process. First and foremost my amazing web developer Will from screenminded was a rock star in making everything happen! Seriously, if any of you are ever looking for an amazing web programmer, he is your guy! I know from my experience, web programmers (good and reliable ones!) are hard to come by so reach out to him if you need a website programmed! He is amazing!!!!

And of course so many of my friends were so helpful in giving me feedback throughout my entire design process (thanks Patrick, Vané, Jenna, Jeff, Christine, Lindsey!). It is so crucial to get feedback from creative friends when you are working solo.

And a HUGE thanks to the many blogs that have been picking up my work over the last couple of days!

I am back to blogging next week, and I can't wait!

Have a wonderful weekend!!!!

Lyla Belle

I am thrilled to announce the birth of our daughter Lyla Belle, named after my Grandmother. She is just the most awesome little miracle we have ever seen. How we ever lived without her I will never know. Patrick and I made her, she is all ours, and we just stare at her in disbelief. She is perfection to us. She was born last Wednesday morning, April 8th, at 7:52 a.m. She weighed 8lbs. 9oz. and was 21" long. I gave birth to her all natural at St. Lukes Roosevelt's Birthing Center. I really can't say enough good things about my birthing experience, I would wish it on anyone. My labor lasted a total of 13 hours; I labored mostly at home (Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn) and by the time we got up to St. Lukes (near Columbus Circle) a little before 7 a.m., I was fully dilated and 52 minutes later she was born. We were at the hospital for less than an hour before I gave birth!

On most days you will find her sleeping and chilling at home and partying all night. We have a little rock star on our hands, that is for sure. She is our world. I can't believe we are parents. I was totally like Miranda on SATC, and then as soon as I saw our little girl, everything made sense and I became a mom. And like I said, how we ever lived without her, I will never know.

We kept her sex a surprise. Everyone and their mother thought we were having a boy based on all of the old wives tales; strangers even stopped us on the street telling me boy! The best moment of my life was when Patrick said "It's a Girl!" It doesn't get any better than that.

I will be back next week, I am launching my website, finally. But first I had to have this little baby girl. Gosh, I am just weak in the knees, we feel so incredibly blessed, I can't even write in words how amazing it is.

See you soon.
xoxo

Frosting Makes Me Happy.

There are some days when all I really want to eat is frosting. Is that so bad? These sweets from Miette would surely take care of that desire.

And on that note, I am going to take a break from the blog for the next couple of weeks. I have a little sweet something to tend to.

See you soon! xoxo

Accessorize with String Art

Isn't this jewelry by Miette gorgeous? So very sci-fi but yet incredibly soft and feminine; a contrasting mix that blends together so beautifully.

A Touch of Gold

I need these ceramics by Up In The Air Somewhere. Okay, so I don't really need them, but I am such a fan of subtle and uneven details on ceramics, that this little bit of gold on the rim along with the imperfect surfaces took my breath away. Absolute perfection. Our wedding anniversary is coming up in a couple of months, maybe I will add these to my list...

The Perfect Match

Fun, simple, modern and well crafted is how I would describe Yellowgoat's jewelry. It is all reasonably priced and would make the perfect gift or accessory. Their small but incredibly gorgeous selection of original head bands would be an amazing accessory for your hair. And I can't get over how cute the perfect match necklace is, it is one of my favorites!

Thanks Brittni!

Classic

I came across this photo via Taxidermy Church, a well written and fun wedding blog by a current client of mine. Alison and her fiancé Nick have been so awesome to work with and a lot of her personality is reflected in this blog. Alison always seems to have a fun take on weddings, trends, food, you name it. She is fun.

Genelia D'souza

Genelia D'Souza (born on August 5, 1987) is an Indian film actress, model, and host. She has appeared in Telugu and Hindi language films, as well as Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada language films. D'Souza first hit the limelight in a Parker Pen commercial with Amitabh Bachchan.

She made her acting debut in the Hindi movie Tujhe Meri Kasam in 2003, which failed to propel her career in Bollywood, but soon achieved recognition in the Tamil film Boys the same year. She subsequently acted in many Telugu movies during the period from 2003 to 2005, which earned her recognition in the Telugu film industry.

D'Souza received her first Telugu Filmfare Award for Best Actress in 2006 for her performance in the romantic film, Bommarillu, which earned her critical acclaim. She made her Kannada debut in 2007 in Satya In Love.

According to D'Souza, her name "Genelia", means "rare" or "unique", and is a portmanteau of Jeanette and Neil, her mother and father's name.
