A little bit of this and that

A cute little poster from Sparkle Power is being sold for a hard to pass up price. I like.

And how cute is this bunting banner? It is the perfect decoration for a baby shower...

Handwritten Cupcakes

Do you remember the cupcakes at my baby shower that my friend Regan made? Well she sent me the recipe from Martha Stewart and I thought I would pass it along. Regan also happens to be an online food editor for Martha so it only comes natural she would use this recipe. Enjoy!

On the baby front, I am getting super excited for the big debut. Really, it could be any day now, and we are ready! Patrick and I are going to make a video this weekend to talk about where we are in our lives, give a tour of our apartment, tell our little baby how much we already love her or him, etc. I think it will be fun to watch the video one day with our child. Did your parents do something like that for you?

Have a wonderful weekend!!!

A little bit of gold...

It is always nice to see what Bailey Doesn't Bark is up to, and I happen to love their new Flamingo and Trees collection that was just launched yesterday! I love the combination of the gold with orange/red illustrations, perfect for a spring time tea party!

Lego Your Lapel

These two guys, Dee and Ricky have a super rad take on the traditional brooch, building them from Legos. These seem like a fun and modern gift for the groomsmen or a fun little gift for a flower girl with the bow tie barrette.

A Secret Gem

Reiko's Secrets makes incredibly cool necklaces. Each have such an interesting mix of material, color and texture and how awesome to receive a collage along with the piece of jewelry. You can't beat the two one of a kind/original gifts in one concept.

Sweet Sweets

Every now and again I love to check in and see what Hello Naomi is up to. And as always, she never ceases to inspire me and make me smile, her cupcakes and cookies are just too cute for words.

The lovely Thread

I can't get over how much I love Thread Design, after all, it is where I got my wedding dress. They are the perfect option for a bride on a tight budget but not wanting to compromise on the design. Thread has such beautiful styles and most gowns are around $400, perfect for a more casual wedding.

Thanks for all of the lovely comments about our baby shower, it was such a beautiful day and I was so happy to share it with all of you!

Our Baby Shower

Yesterday Patrick and I were thrown an amazing baby shower at our apartment by our lovely friends Emily and Jenna! They did such an amazing job with decorations (color theme yellow of course!) and food, so I thought I would share some of their wonderful ideas. My favorites were the fabric banner, the flowers and the "make a wish" jar. They had some help in the food dept. by a couple of other friends, Libby and Regan. Regan's take on the traditional hostess cupcakes with some added baby flair were awesome! Being pregnant, I have had some weird cravings, so when asked what kind of food I wanted, I said meat and fruit. Odd, I know, but the girls went above and beyond!

I am taking a break this week from the blog, I have so many amazing personal and professional things going on and I need to focus. I look forward to sharing a few things with you in the near future, but until then, godspeed! xoxox

Girard

There are so many things that I have/need to buy for the baby. But what really gets me excited are the things that I want for the baby, like this Alexander Girard alphabet block set. Maybe a few years down the road I can justify a purchase like this, after all it is a learning tool designed by one of my favorite designers of all time, but right now I need to stay focused on the necessities!

Esha Deol

Esha Deol (born 2 November 1981) is an Indian actress who appears in Bollywood films. She is the elder daughter of Bollywood actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini.

Deol is the elder daughter of actors Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She has a younger sister named Ahana. She was a state level soccer player and was selected in the Indian national team. She is part Punjabi and part Tamil and speaks Tamil with her mother Hema Malini and sister Ahana Deol. She is also the half-sister of actors Sunny Deol and Bobby Deol.

She is a Jatt Sikh on her father's side and Iyengar on her mother's. Deol attended Mithibai College in Mumbai where she planned to be become a fashion designer. Deol is also trained in the Odissi and Bharatanatyam dancing styles. Deol studied under Mumbai Odissi guru Rabindra Atibuddhi.

Deol's film career began with Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche for which she won three awards. She released several unsuccessful films in 2003, but in 2004 received a Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress as the villain heroine in Dhoom. The same year she played a French teacher in Aayutha Ezhuthu. She went on to repeat the role in the Hindi remake Yuva.

Deol's portrayal of a notorious and vengeful ghost in Ram Gopal Verma's Darling (2007) was reviewed positively. Taran Adarsh from indiaFM noted that, "Esha Deol is excellent in a role that’s nothing short of a challenge. It would’ve boomeranged had it been entrusted to any inferior actor, but Esha is in terrific form here. This should be the turning point in her career." She is set to star in her mother's next directorial venture with Rekha and Abhishek Bachchan and also a film in which she is cast with her mother.

A Precious Gift

I came across Mother Stork's Baby Book a while back and am really impressed by it's gorgeous illustrations and beautiful use of typography. What I love most about it is that it isn't too "baby", but really sophisticated and sets a gorgeous framework for all of the fun little moments to come.
