Our Ring Pillow

I just had to share our ring bearer pillow. Vané surprisingly made the pillow for me, literally less than a handful of days before her wedding! She used some of the leftover Hable Construction fabric she had for her vases. I then tufted it with one of my vintage buttons and some Mokuba ribbon. It was my first tufting job and it was so easy, took me less than 5 minutes!

I haven't been posting many details of our wedding because I want to surprise all of our guests, so this is it until after the wedding. I will be back a few more times throughout the next week and then I am off to Jamaica to get married! I can't believe it is finally happening!

This weekend Patrick and I attended Vané and Chad's wedding, it was a gorgeous and extremely personal affair. There were so many personal (and amazing!) touches throughout the wedding, but at the end of the day, looking back at the event it was not just about these touches but more so about Chad and Vané as a cool and fun couple and their wedding totally reflected that. It was FUN!, from the start to the end of the reception, there was a fantastic energy and any given time the dance floor was packed. From Vané and Chad's first dance to her dance with her dad to the Tango! I do not recall her ever mentioning once she had an inner tango queen living inside of her, I really couldn't believe my eyes! She and her dad had moves that I swear they must have been practicing for months, but she made it quite clear she was total natural! Then with Vané being Armenian, many of her family and friends danced to traditional Armenian songs, which was so much fun to see. During dinner, we sat with another friend Anne and her fiancé Tom, which was so fun to talk about our upcoming nuptials ( At least Anne and I thought so :), ours in 12 days and theirs next Fall. I won't go into too many details about the reception as it is only fitting that Vané will. But I will say this, in the end it was such a personal event, Vané's blog throughout the past year has proven to be such a great reference and inspiration tool for all of us brides and she truly pulled off a wedding that reflected all of her energy towards the blog. Lucky for me I have made great friends out of this wedding blog world, and it has been so much fun to experience all of our planning inspiration, advice and "problem solving" together!

Be sure to check out Anne's blog for more photos of Vané and Chad's wedding.

Charms

I am almost finished with all of the gifts for our wedding party, and last night I picked up one of these charms from Tiffany for my niece who is going to be my personal attendant. She just got the charm bracelet so I think she will love her new charm, what 13 year old wouldn't love a charm like this?

I am in the finishing stages of filling our welcome totes I just picked up these beach towels from Pottery Barn Kids for my niece and nephew with their names embroidered on them. I am sure they will be used plenty throughout the weekend in Jamaica.

Anna Wolf

I am excited to share with you the work of Anna Wolf, our good friend and the photographer of our wedding. Anna and her boyfriend Mike Perry, whom we've known for years after meeting him in art school, have become close friends and fellow Brooklynites. While Anna mostly shoots fashion and documentary photography, we're really excited that she is taking the time to capture this cherished moment in our lives.

We met with Mike and Anna the other night and they are both so enthusiastic about shooting our wedding and have so many great ideas. Having the ability to sit down and really exchange ideas on the look and feel of the photos was a great opportunity. We can hardly wait 17 more days!!!

Bridesmaid's Gifts

With only 18 days left to go for our wedding, I have been checking off my list of gifts to give to everyone that will be part of it. I bought my two bridesmaid's (my sisters) a gift box full of Fresh Sugar goodies. The sweet lemony scent of Sugar goes well with our theme of the yellow and lemons. Here are some of the things that came in their gifts and I just had to throw in a Sake candle too as it is my favorite candle scent ever.

I happened to go to the Union Square Fresh a couple of weeks ago to get a makeup lesson done by Vané's friend Claribel and she did an amazing job! I am not totally confident with applying makeup and she gave me step by step guidelines and then numbered each product with the steps. She was so helpful!

Flora New York

As I walked back from lunch the other day in Soho, I walked by Flora New York and saw these gorgeous rustic arrangements sitting outside. If you happen to be in Soho, you should stop by their shop on Thompson street, a refreshing break from some of the strong odors lovely NYC emits in the warm summer months. Below are some of their arrangements online.

Matchsticks

I bought these Matchsticks as soon as I saw them on shopbop.com. You never know what could slip out or come undone, double sided tape can solve a lot of unforeseen problems! I can already see myself using them on my shoes in case my feet start sliding out of them.

Modern Brooches

I adore these Alexis Bittar pins, they are absolutely gorgeous, and being made from lucite, I can hardly resist. These are my favorite!

This Vivienne Westwood brooch would add modern glam to any dress. I love the sophisticated sparkles all balanced from a bone, a nice unexpected take on a traditional brooch.

These brooches by Marni would add fantastic pops of color to a wedding dress, I love the electric blue one. If you can't afford their clothes (I can't) their brooches are a sweet taste of the high life.

How can you resist these little flowers by Chloe, and they are on sale at Saks Fifth Avenue online. If not right for a dress, they would be a cute accessory to gift.

Luckily, I am borrowing a brooch of my sister's that my grandmother gave her. It will be my something borrowed and could be something old, but I have another idea for that. If I weren't able to borrow a brooch, as you can see, there are plenty of gorgeous and cool ones out there!

Emergency Sewing Kit

Browsing through Etsy last night, I came across this cute little emergency sewing kit by Brass Paper Clip. What a perfect little kit, unfortunately there is only one left in her store or I would have bought three for me and my bridesmaids!

Mug Tree

This mug tree would be great for any counterscape. I love the shape and function and how the cut outs work as coasters. Such a clever design!

Tracy Chong

What a fun way to show your appreciation to someone special. These pop-up cards by Etsy seller Tracy Chong are cute ways to show your love and gratitude. A nice little surprise, especially with Mother's Day around the corner...

Pear Trinkets

These little ceramic pears are such a cute little favor ideas, I love how sweet and simple they are.

I love this poetic flatware with laser engraved quotes from famous writers, what a cool item to have on your registry. The engraved type treatments and icons are just gorgeous.

Wedding Plan

With little over a month to go until our wedding, I have been corresponding back and forth with our wedding planner on a daily basis. I am a visual person, so I put together this little layout of how and where I think everything should be placed. Bearing in mind access to bathrooms, electricity for the dj, band, buffet, etc. Here is a plan of what our wedding day layout will look like. I am getting so excited to be near the warm Caribbean Sea in Jamaica!

Trisha Krishnan

Trisha Krishnan ( born on 4 May 1983) is an Indian film actress and model who mainly appears in Tamil and Telugu films. After her first appearance in the 1999 Tamil film Jodi, in a supporting role, she won a Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut for her first lead role in the 2002 film Mounam Pesiyadhe.

She later rose to fame starring in the successful films, Saamy (2003) and Ghilli (2004) in Tamil cinema and Varsham (2004) in Telugu cinema, for which she secured her first South Filmfare Best Actress Award. She made her Bollywood debut in the 2010 film Khatta Meetha opposite Akshay Kumar.

Krishnan was born to Tamil parents, Krishnan and Uma Krishnan, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She attended M.S.E.C College in Ramnad and later studied at Sacred Heart Church Park School, Chennai. In school, she participated in several cultural activities, sports and school band. While studying in M.S.E.C college, she ventured into part-time modeling and participated in various beauty pageants.

She converses fluently in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi & English. As part of her modeling career, she appeared in many TV advertisements including that of Fanta, Tata Indicom and Vivel ITC. She also appeared in Falguni Pathak's music video Meri Chunar Ud Ud Jaye as Ayesha Takia's friend dancing in the video.

Soon after her pageant success, Krishnan began her career acting in an uncredited role as Simran's friend in Jodi before moving onto appear in advertisements and in music videos, with Falguni Pathak's Meri Chunar Ud Ud Jaye being the most prominent. The first project she accepted was the Priyadarshan-directed Lesa Lesa, with the promotional posters for the film, also creating an offer to star in the A. R. Rahman musical, Enakku 20 Unakku 18 (2003).

However both the projects' releases were severely delayed, and her first release was Ameer's Mounam Pesiyadhe opposite Surya Sivakumar. The film became a moderate success at the box office and did manage to gain credentials for Trisha, with critics claiming that she was "undoubtedly a refreshing new find, with sparkling eyes and appealing demeanour", also going onto praise the dubbing artiste, Savitha Reddy, who has since regularly dubbed for Trisha. Manasellam, her second project, saw her play a cancer patient; but the film also went unnoticed despite positive reviews for the film and the actress.
