What A Year It's Been!!!

I want to take a moment to wish you all a safe and happy holiday season. I hope you all had a wonderful and productive year and I look forward to seeing you again in 2009!

I have to say 2008 has been my best and busiest year yet. Here is a brief timeline of the past year of my life:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We finally got married!!! The best celebration of our lives, with our closest friends and family members all in Jamaica. I still get chills thinking about how perfect everything went.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I left my job as a product designer for Jonathan Adler to start my own stationery company. I can't wait to launch my website and collection early next year. I was hoping to get everything up and running by the end of the year but then a little something happened...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The biggest and best surprise of my life, I am six months pregnant!!! Patrick and I couldn't be more excited!!! I can't wait to share thoughts and design ideas about preparing for this aspect of my life. It was so amazing to share my wedding planning process with you and in return fall in love with anything and everything weddings! But because I am now entering a whole new planning process, I look forward to sharing my finds and thoughts with you on my blog!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I want to thank you all for your support and visits to Thoughtful Day! I look forward to seeing you back in the New Year and I wish you all a healthy, happy and prosperous 2009.

p.s. Please send me an email if you would like to be notified of the launch of my website. I can't wait to show you all!

'Tis the Season

Every year we head up to midtown to look at the annual holiday display windows along 5th Ave. And as always, Bergdorf Goodman outdid it's competition (in my opinion) with their over the top, glamorous and decadently excessive window displays. Click here to see last years Bergdorf's (and Barney's) windows. So much work and thought goes into these!

Crissy's DIY Bouquet

Crissy left a comment with a link to the bouquet she created for her own wedding in Italy (without any practice!). It's simply beautiful! Also posted are a few gorgeous shots from her wedding in Siena.

Thanks Crissy!

DIY Flowers

A while back, A Cup of Jo posted about supermarket wedding bouquets and after finally getting around to looking at the guide on Real Simple I couldn't resist posting a few of my favorites. You could easily get a few bouquets out of $20-30 worth of supermarket flowers!

Amazing.

Absolutely beautiful. Need I say more?

Uplifting Eye Charts

These eye chart cards by Ohkayk have uplifting messages by famous people, my favorite one being the top quote by Helen Keller. I love their graphic layouts, but to be honest I have a fondness for eye charts, I wore glasses from the age of 3-11 and anything that reminds me of those eye visits makes me nostalgic. Despite my soft spot, I think these card sets or even the larger prints would make great gifts!

Mary and Matt

I came across Mary & Matt's General store while perusing Kate Spade's Behind the Curtain, and I am so glad I did. They offer a small selection of really simple but great designed products. I absolutely love their stencil cards and there chocolate pie chart is not only a brilliant idea but balanced just the way I would want it!

A Girl Can Dream...

This gown is part of J. Mendels Pre-Fall 2009 collection. I love the colors and the draping is absolutely stunning. A modern grecian goddess gown I could only dream to wear!

On that note, have a wonderful weekend!

Convenient Style

I absolutely love this top carafe set. Domestic and wild animals screen printed onto the glass with silver ink, it is so lovely! It would also help limit all of my water trips throughout the day, sometimes I think I drink too much water! But then there are these colored glass carafes, which I have written about before and when it comes to colored glass I am usually sold. Either way both are great options for desk or bedside convenience!

Linda & Harriet Recycled

Speaking of brooches, Linda & Harriet has come up with a gorgeous way to reuse their letterpress misprints. These flower pins are each hand cut and sewn together with a vintage button. How brilliant! And how gorgeous are their gift tags? A perfect way to adorn your gifts this holiday season!

Add a Little Flair...

The last issue of Lucky had a great selection of brooches, which are always a great way to add a little style and flair to your outfit. This top Jubilee pin in particular is my favorite, it has so much character and color. I, for one, have always been obsessed with little pops of color here and there. I also love the bottom simple Long Stemmed Iris pin, it is more understated but would still add drama to any outfit.
